Disinfectant-ready, the Zebra DS2278-HC healthcare scanner is a cordless 2D scanner for all healthcare areas and ensures for a high degree of freedom of movement, thanks to its cordless design. With its PRZM technology it captures 1D and 2D barcodes at all times without errors and to the user’s satisfaction – from patient wristbands and medication bottles up to infusion bags and sample trays.
Because of its IP52 certification against dust deposits and diagonally falling dripping water, the DS2278-HC is well protected, plus it withstands multiple impacts from up to 1.5 meters. The deeply recessed scan window is scratch-proof and the housing easily withstands regular cleanings with common disinfectants.
The powerful 2,400 mAh lithium-ion battery lasts for a shift up to 14 hours. It is charged within four hours via the presentation station – even during operation. The interfaces USB, RS-232, keyboard wedge, RS-485 and Bluetooth 4.0 with BLE ensure a high degree of operational readiness. Another practical feature is the automatic host recognition, which automatically selects the right host interface. With scan-to-connect the scanner connects with a Bluetooth-capable PC, tablet or smartphone with a scan.
Easily switch between modes
The DS2278-HC allows for a quick switch between presentation and handheld modes. For presentation mode simply place the scanner in the presentation stand. Once it is picked up it automatically switches to handheld mode. Also, an innovative targeting line optically shows the ideal distance from the scanner to the barcode during the scanning process. Acoustic tone and an LED light signal a successful scan. For noise-sensitive areas the scanner features a »Do not disturb« mode. In this mode light is projected onto the barcode to be captured, with which the user easily recognises a successful scan without any noise.
