We do however see more and more from market trends, the need to offer bespoke or custom ribbons for a variety of reasons.
Some manufacturers especially the coding companies are trying to come up with more and more complicated ribbon sizes, which makes offering an alternative or compatible match difficult, in terms of size or offer (this is because they charge so much for their products and try to blind the user from their true costs).
Some printer manufacturers like to use bespoke sizing so we can also match these, if you need something particular or a bit different.
Due to our direct relationship and buying power from the best makers of TTR ribbons across Europe, we can get a range of bespoke sizes and grades to match almost any combination out there.
Depending on the manufacturer, the lead time is up to 2 weeks with a minimum order Qty of 50 ribbons. However we are more than happy to get sizes pre-made and we will hold the stock off our shelves, ready to go and be called off as and when you require it.

What is Thermal Transfer Printing?
Thermal Transfer is the world’s most popular printing technology for the marking of variable information on labels and flexible packaging: barcodes, logos, text, expiry dates and batch numbers. This data is important in order to identify a product, to ensure its traceability throughout its life cycle and to provide all important information for end users.

Thermal Transfer printer technology where the print head is positioned obliquely, the contact between the film and the printed substrate is quick. Films for corner edge printers therefore require specific cooling properties, similar to Corner Edge technology.
Simplicity of printing using Thermal Transfer
3 components are essential to guarantee a good printing quality: a Thermal Transfer printer, a print medium and an inked roll. It is the multiple possible combinations between these three elements that make Thermal Transfer a print technology that is particularly well suited to meeting the demands of all the main industries: distribution, logistics, food processing, health, electronics, household appliances, automotive, machine tools, chemicals, cosmetics, horticulture, textiles and aeronautics.
Thermal transfer printing requires heating the ink of the ink ribbon such that it is deposited onto the substrate as it passes through the printer. Once this ink deposited on this substrate, it dries quickly, thus allowing the formation of data such as bar codes, texts, numbering, etc.
Thermal transfer is a fast printing process that allows the printing of variable data, controlled directly via dedicated software. This software connected to the printer transmits the data and printing information that will make each product unique.

ITW P110 High Speed Techno-Edge™ wax/resin is a thermal transfer ribbon that is designed especially for the flexible packaging printing market where optimum printing performance at high speeds is required.
